SecureChain, LLC
Capability Statement
SecureChain, LLC is a subsidiary of Krause Recreation, Inc. (KRI), a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), founded in 1978, by Michael Krause, Ph.D. In 2009, KRI Consulting, LLC, and HALO Educational Systems were formed as subsidiaries of KRI. SecureChain was formed in 2011 to focus on executive leadership development and their preparation for emergencies. For more than two decades KRI, through its subsidiaries performed Strategic Planning, Leader Development, Logistics Security, for major corporations, government departments and agencies. HALO performed educational, training and counseling services for government, military, private and public institutions.
Recent engagements include analysis and investigative work for the House Appropriations Committee of the United States Congress in the Central Command area of operations. An on-going engagement is education and training for the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG), Special Operations Command (SOCOM).
Previous accomplishments focused on leader development training conducted for the U.S. Army Center for Army Analysis (CAA); the United States Army Materiel Command (AMC), Strategic Logistics Integration Agency (LIA), and Logistics Augmentation for Contingency Operations (LOGCAP).
A significant strategic planning accomplishment was the planning and building of the logistics distribution system for Amazon.com that now serves over 50 million customers.
Security and logistics efficiency planning for Pfizer, Inc. resulted in the institution of a communications center; different standard operation procedures for high value drug shipments and standardized tracking procedures. Working with the International Criminal Investigative Training and Assistance Program (ICITAP), Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI), Department of Justice, KRI developed the strategic plan for Haiti.
SecureChain worked with a team of security expert, to implement the Joint Security and Communications Center in Washington, DC. This security communications center brought state-of-the-art surveillance, intelligence and communications technology to the nation’s capitol. The center innovated communications technology for police, fire, medical and military personnel so that they could – for the first time – communicate and “see” each other effectively. This was a critical first in communications, intelligence and surveillance. In other consultative roles, SecureChain worked similar security and communications missions in New York City and other locations.
Dr. Krause consultation and “red team” analytics for Orion Systems resulted in increased contract awards including the Center for Counter Measures, at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. Other applications of SecureChain’s talent were in application of border security in the Emirates. SecureChain developed a program for border security, which included proposals for continuous border surveillance. Additional programs centered on port security through enhance surveillance, including environmental detection.
Advising entrepreneurial leaders in FreightDesk.com, SecureChain, assisted in emplacing greater efficiency and security in the transportation documentation process used by international sea, air, and land shippers.
Another example of SecureChain’s capabilities focused upon experiential learning through the use of simulation technologies. Dr. Krause’s strategic planning and educational advice and counsel for GSE Systems, resulted in the building of the Emirates Simulation Academy (ESA) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The ESA is affiliated with the Higher Colleges of Technology. This simulation capability teaches and trains young engineers in the energy sector how to control and operate major manufacturing centers, oil refineries and drilling operations and desalinization plants. Additional simulation learning centers were emplaced at Strathclyde University, in Glasgow, Scotland; and Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA.
Using applicatory techniques of “learning by doing,” Dr. Krause conducted decision makers learning “staff rides” to historical battlefields for industry and government clients. In the poignant setting of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, or Normandy, France, KRI demonstrates that decisions have consequences; innovation can reward, and leadership is essential to motivate and build toward success.
HALO Educational Systems, established an effective counseling program for a number of New Hampshire school districts. HALO’s monthly advice and evaluation has enabled school district’s faculty to meet and exceed required objectives. HALO’s capability includes finding and achieving grant funding sources for educational, communications and counseling programs. Since 2010, HALO conducts the professional educational development program for the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, Dam Neck, Virginia. This educational program consists of seminars in communication and public speaking; new technology application; negotiation focused on inter-agency and business environment; and, Leadership: the Warrior’s Art. These courses receive academic credit. HALO’s Managing Director is Ms. Elena Van Zandt, M.Ed., MLADC, CPS.
For nearly a decade Dr. Krause was a member of the Army Science Board. Here his strategic planning, leader development and logistics skills were used in solving critical Defense Department and Army organization, training, technological, logistics and transportation problems.
